Karar Dance Company hosts the first annual River City Dance Film Festival in Virginia’s capital city of Richmond in Fall 2022. Lovingly known as the River City, Richmond is home to the James River which is interstitially woven with vibrant movement as the community plays and moves.

The River City Dance Film Festival accepts modern dance film submissions with the theme of “pure movement”. Karar Dance Company showcases films that exhibit a visceral, inventive, and powerful movement language.

The Festival is a family-friendly event.

EVENT SCHEDULE
11 - 12 pm: Movement Class with Hailey Clevenger (FREE and open to beginners age 12 and up)
2 -3:30 pm: Screening One
4 - 5 pm: Film Discussion/Lecture/Q&A hosted by Dr. Kate Sicchio
5:30 - 7 pm: Screening Two
